Founded by Sensei Leonardo Jones, LEAD Karate Academy is one of the top karate schools in New Providence, teaching many kids the art and discipline of karate. Our main goal is to teach kids how to Lead by Equipping and Activating them to Dominate in an ever-changing society through karate.

Our style of teaching is adapted from Okinawan Goju Ryu karate do, which was created by Chojun Miyagi Sensei (1888 - 1953). Goju Ryu karate do is one of the oldest martial arts traditions and movements that help children to learn self-defense and practice balance and breathing among other important techniques.
We help children to realize that they were born to lead. At the end of our programs, each child learns that hard work and discipline can help you to accomplish anything.
MEET SENSEI LEONARDO JONES
Sensei Leonardo Jones is a seasoned martial artist with extensive experience in a wide range of disciplines. As a dedicated student and practitioner, he has trained in boxing, jujitsu, judo, kung fu, Extreme Karate, Shotokan Karate, and Goju Ryu Karate.
He holds a 1st Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate-do and a 4th Dan black belt in Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate-do. Sensei Jones is an active member of both the Bahamas Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-do Kyokai and the Pan American Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-do Kyokai.
